Sparkle (MN) [more info]

Name: Sparkle DOB: 3/27/08 Weight: 14 pounds Adoption Donation: $200 Foster Location: Redwood Falls, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Sparkle was rescued at a puppy-mill/commercial breeder auction and is now being fostered in Minnesota. Sparkle does need a fenced yard. INFORMATION: Meet Sparkle! This sweet, spunky little girl has adjusted quite well in her foster home. She enjoys playing with the other dogs and has a new found love of squeaky toys. Sparkle needs to have a fenced yard as she has demonstrated numerous times she does NOT want to be leash trained. Sparkle is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She is not one to do stairs so would prefer a one level home so she doesn't have to be carried. She has mastered a step or two though. Sparkle has a darling independent spirit but gets along fine with other small dogs and kitties, and would love to have a furry companion in her forever home. THIS IS A SPECIAL LITTLE GIRL! Is Sparky the one for you? HEALTH: Sparkle has been spayed, is micro-chipped, has been heart worm tested and is up to date on vaccinations. She has had a problem with bladder crystals so she needs to be on a special prescription diet food. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . If you think this dog may be a good match for you and your family, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found at www.luvachinrescue.org . Once we receive your completed application, we will then contact the references provided and set up a home visit with a rescue volunteer in your area. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING FROM LUV-A-CHIN RESCUE!

Gunner (MN) [more info]

Name: GUNNER DOB: 9/10/07 Weight: approximately 14 pounds Adoption Donation: $150 Foster Location Bertha, MN As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Gunner was rescued at a commercial breeder auction and is being fostered in Minnesota INFORMATION: Gunner is somewhat shy with new people and not very social with humans but not the scared little boy he was when he first arrived. He would do best in a quiet home with another small dog/dogs. He needs a forever home with lots of love and patience and at this point, but he's worth the effort. Having experience with puppy-mill type personality dogs would be helpful. Gunner is very handsome and enjoys the companionship of the other Chins here. He is coming along on his house manners and loves being outside in the fenced yard. Gunner is not leash trained so a fenced yard or a penned are is a must have for this guy. If you would like more information on Gunner, please email us. UPDATE: 11-15-15- Gunner will ONLY be adopted to a home within 150 miles of his foster home. He is not your typical Chin and needs someone with experience with puppy-mill type dogs. He gets along with other dogs but does not interact a lot with them and he can be quite aloof with humans so he is a bit of a challenge. He has come a long way since he first arrived into foster care 2 years ago but is not a typical companion dog. HEALTH: Gunner is in good health, as been neutered, micro-chipped, heart worm tested and is up to date on all required vaccines. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . If you think this dog may be a good match for you and your family, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found at www.luvachinrescue.org . She is on the hefty side now but working on slimming down a couple of pounds. She has never lived in a home before so she is a work in progress. She loves the other Chins and is getting used to having a human around. Still on the shy side but has moments of silliness. In the coming weeks Arianne and her foster mom will be working on house manners and socialization. She is not leash trained and doesn't show that she is very interested in learning. Arianne will need a fenced yard or a penned confined area for trips outside. HEALTH: Arianne has been spayed, heart-worm tested, micro-chipped, and up to date on all of her shots. ZORRO (MN) [more info]

Name: ZORRO DOB: 8/14/07 Weight: approximately 14 pounds Adoption Donation: $150 Foster Location: SW Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Zorro came from a commercial breeder and was rescued by Luv A Chin and given a chance to be a normal house dog. INFORMATION: Zorro is a good natured boy that gets along well with all of his Chin friends. He has just been in his first home for a couple of months but he fit right in and enjoys both the house and his fenced in yard. Zorro has an old scar on one eye that gives kind of a blueish cast but it does not bother him at all. He is really a teddy bear and so deserving of a forever home. I think he would feel most comfortable with one or two other dogs to be buds with. UPDATE-5/12/15 Zorro definitely needs to have other furry companions. He loves to kiss and lick the other dogs faces and gets along very well with all. He likes people but I think he prefers other dogs. He is always cuddled up on a dog bed with someone! Zorro may be able to learn to walk on a leash but is not trained at this time so would need either a fenced yard or at the least, an exercise pen to play in until he has been trained. HEALTH: Zorro has been neutered, micro-chipped, heart worm tested and is up to date on all of his shots. He does have a grade 3 heart murmur but is not showing any symptoms of heart problems and does not require any medication. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . If you think this dog may be a good match for you and your family, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found at www.luvachinrescue.org . Taka Mori (MN) [more info]

Name: TAKA MORI DOB: 1-21-2007 Weight: approximately 16 pounds Adoption Donation: $150 Foster Location: Bertha, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Taki Mori was used as a stud dog by a commercial breeder before being rescued by Luv A Chin. INFORMATION: Hi! My name is Taka Mori and I just found out about this thing called life as a house pet. My foster mom says I'm smart, handsome(she even likes my freckles) and friendly. Sometimes she really embarrasses me the way she brags about me. I spent my first 7 years sitting in a cage being used to make puppies for my owner to sell to pet stores. Now I have a soft bed, a house to live in with heat and ac, good food, sometimes even a treat or two. I get as excited as a puppy sometimes, especially if something to eat is involved. I'm learning to use potty pads and go outside to take care of my business. I don't know how to walk on a leash, my foster mom says I need to learn....I don't know what that is but if it involved food I'm all in! I get along pretty well with the other dogs in my house but sometimes get a little grumpy if they crowd me too much. We have a couple of things called cats here too. I'm curious about them but I still haven't decided if I like them or not. I would do well as an only dog or with maybe one or two small canine friends. I would really love a nice fenced yard so I could run and play and not have to learn about that leash stuff, but I suppose I could learn if there were enough treats. I get a little too exuberant at times but I mean well., so I would do best with adults or if there are any kids, maybe 12 or older. HEALTH: Taka Mori has been neutered, he has been heartworm tested, micro-chipped and is up to date on all of his shots.

MIA (MN) [more info]

Name: Mia DOB: 7/4/2008 Weight: approximately 13 pounds Adoption Donation: $200 Foster Location: Redwood Falls, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! BACKGROUND: Mia was rescued along with other Japanese Chins from a breeder closeout. INFORMATION: Mia is such a striking girl, and has what we call a "clown face". She is very affectionate with her person once she gets to know she is safe. She has only been in foster care a couple of weeks and is doing well, she goes outside and uses potty pads. Mia is not leash trained so she will need a fenced yard (at least 3 feet tall) or an exercise pen or run outdoors so she has a place to run and be free. She does alright with other small dogs but is slightly dominant so the best match would be a mellow canine companion or as an ONLY. She loves her person and is a bit possessive. Mia is somewhat nervous with new situations and fast movements so would do best in an adult home or a quiet home with respectful children 12 or older. Remember that Mia has never lived in a house and has not had any socialization until now so it is a slow process that takes love and patience but gives back 10 fold! HEALTH: Mia has recently been spayed, is micro-chipped, up to date on her shots and HW test.

TRISH (MN) [more info]

Name: Trish DOB: 1-4-2009 Weight: approximately 15 pounds Adoption Donation: $225 Foster Location: Redwood Falls, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions, however arranging transport is the responsibility of the adopter. BACKGROUND: Trish was rescued at a Midwest dog auction along with several others. She was part of a commercial breeding kennel. INFORMATION: Trish is a stunning girl with unusal markings and a beautiful, soft, fluffy coat. She is brand new to living in a home so still adjusting and a little shy. She is slow to warm up to new people but I am sure with time and confidence she will come around. She adores her person though, right now that is her foster mommy, and she also loves treats and her food. Trish would do best in a home with a fenced yard as she is not leash trained and will need time to work on that. She has been quite good using potty pads in the house. Trish came into rescue with Mia, Layla and Sasha and some others so she is fine with other small dogs, and I think she would benefit from sharing her forever home with another small dog. Because Trish is somewhat nervous and new to home living she needs to have a home without children under 12. Trish's adopter will need to have patience with her so she has the time to get comfortable and blossom into the Chin she was meant to be. Trish is a beautiful Japanese Chin who is so deserving of being the center of someone's universe! HEALTH: Trish has been spayed, micro-chipped, and HW tested. She is up to date on all of her shots.

BISCUIT (MN) [more info]

Name: BISCUIT DOB:10-14-2010 Weight: approximately 14 pounds Adoption Donation: $250 Foster Location: Redwood Falls, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions, however arranging transport is the responsibility of the adopter. BACKGROUND: Biscuit was rescued by Luv A Chin when she was just a puppy. Unfortunately, because of a change in living status Biscuit tearfully came back to us recently. INFORMATION: Biscuit is such a sweet little girl. She is timid with new people but becomes comfortable pretty quickly. She would do best in a quiet, loving home without children, or if there are kids, well trained respectful children 12 or older. Biz loves to hang out on the couch with her other furry house-mates, but don't let that quiet demeanor fool you. Every so often she cuts loose and becomes a "Chinja" warrior, she is a little powerhouse for a couple minutes, then goes back to being a couch potato. She has lived with other small dogs and cats and done well -but she is afraid of large dogs. Biscuit would love a fenced yard as walking on a leash is not her favorite past-time although she will walk on one if you let her decide where to go! We think Biz would like to have another dog as a companion or would do ok as an only if her people were retired and home most of the time. This is a special little girl and we want to find her the perfect forever home-could it be yours? HEALTH: Biscuit seems to be in very good health, has been spayed, micro-chipped and is up to date on shots. We will have her have a 4DX test and check to see if she needs a dental before adoption.

We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions, however arranging transport is the responsibility of the adopter. If you are in a nearby state and we have volunteers who can help with a transport, we will certainly try to assist. We do not ship any dogs CARGO. BACKGROUND: Bella was surrendered by her owners when they lost their home INFORMATION: Hi! My name is Bella and they tell me I am a dainty diva princess! Sounds about right to me! You see, I am just about the perfect Chin, I am housetrained as long as you do your job and get me outside to potty every so often, I like all humans even most kids, I walk on a leash and ride well in a car. I demand free reign of the house, your bed, and your lap and give love and kisses in return. I have never been an only pet so not sure if I would like that or not, but I have lived with cats and dogs. My foster mommy told me to tell you I would be best with a nice little boy-friend dog, or submissive nice female .She says there is only room for one diva in the house, and that would be me!!! Hahaha, I think she is right. I have always had a fenced yard and would love that again as I can run like the wind. I am a little on the thin side right now so we are working on fattening me up. I just got spayed and am ready to set out on my new life in a loving forever home, could it be yours??? If you think you would love me, please fill out an adoption application on the website for me: www.luvachinrescue.org HEALTH: Bella was recently spayed, is micro-chipped, is up to date on all shots and is heartworm negative. BENNY (MN) [more info]

Name: BENNY DOB: 8-12-2013 Weight: approximately 6 pounds Adoption Donation: $350 Foster Location: Le Center, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions, however arranging transport is the responsibility of the adopter. If we have volunteers along the way we can assist in the transport to nearby states. We do NOT ship dogs cargo. BACKGROUND: Benny and his mom Allie and sister Whitney were given to Luv A Chin Rescue by their family due to a family situation. INFORMATION: Hey there all you Chin lovers!!! My name is Benny and I know I am just about the cutest little Chin you have ever seen. I may be small in stature but have a big personality. I would love to find a loving forever home soon. If you could also adopt my sister or mom I would be thrilled, but if you can't I could still come as long as you have an active little dog for me to be pals with. We each just got our own new foster home, mine has another young Chin I can play with all the time. No LARGE dogs please. My house training is pretty good as long as I get to go out pretty often, and I will use potty pads too. I will need a little refresher course on house manners once I make my forever move. Even though I am a small guy, I do have a big voice. I would not say I am a big barker but when I do bark, you hear me! Probably not the best candidate for apartment living. But remember, I am still a youngster so can still learn to brush up my manners. I love to be silly and play tricks on my foster mommy....my favorite joke is to hide under my dog bed and make her think I have vanished. but then I always peek out so I don't scare her too much. When she discovers me she showers me with hugs and kisses and I am one happy boy! If you think you would like to apply to adopt me, please fill out an application online: www.luvachinrescue.org HEALTH: Benny has been recently neutered, micro-chipped and is heartworm negative. He is up to date on all of his required shots. BACKGROUND: Allie and her son Benny and daughter Whitney were given to Luv A Chin Rescue when because of a family situation the owners could no longer care for. INFORMATION: Hello, I am the beautiful Allie. I know that sounds like I am bragging but I have it on good authority that I am quite a stunning Japanese Chin. I am a bit more reserved than my chin-dren but am the best athlete of all. I will require a minimum fence height of 5 feet and it must be something other than chain-link (I can jump and I can climb like an Olympic athlete). If you don't have a fence you will need to walk me several times a day. I have used potty pads in the house so my potty habits are pretty good. Good with other small breed dogs but NO LARGE dogs please. I would be happy if you wanted to adopt me and my 2 chin-kids Benny and Whitney, but they are ready to leave the nest, so if you want just me, that is fine too. We each just got our own new foster home so we can expand our horizons! I think I would like to have another small dog for company and to make me feel at home in my new forever home. INFORMATION: Here I am, the fabulous Whitney. I am such a darling girl and am always up for fun. I have always lived with my mom Allie and wouldn't mind living with her forever but I am all grown up now and ready to strike out on my own if I need to. I just moved to my very own foster home and now have other Chins and Pekingese to hang out with.. I have only been at my foster home for a short time but have been fairly good about either going outside or using potty pads but I will need some time and patience in that area. I do love to run and play in the fenced yard but then fly back in the door to grab a cushy dog bed. I do bark a little when I get startled or excited, and have a bit more energy than my mom Allie. Benny and I play, do you see him photo-bombing my pretty picture? Geez, Boys!!! Speaking of kids, I have been around them before but would prefer well behaved kids 8 and older in my new home please. I am fine with other small dogs I am pretty darn cute, how do you like me in my Chef's hat helping my foster mommy in the kitchen? I would fill out an application if I were you!
