Chuka (MN) [more info]

Name: Chuka (MN)DOB: 2/3/2005 Adoption Donation: $125.00 Current foster location: Minnesota Date Posted: 8/4/2012 You must complete our online application if you are interested in adopting this fur-kid! Please visit www.luvachinrescue.org for our application! INFORMATION: Chuka has been in his foster home less than a month and is a shy boy. He is getting along well but still a little wary of all the new things. I am sure with a little more time he will become adjusted to his new life. Chuka has a very pretty full coat, and likes to spend time outdoors. So far he gets along well but is not real social with the rest of his foster buddies. He tolerates them but is a bit of a loner. His foster mom calls him ChuChu and is trying to give him lots of attention so he grows more confident. Update: 1/25/13: Chuka does not like to have his picture taken, he’s a little camera shy. He is a sweet boy who is still somewhat shy, but does like individual attention. Chuka gets along with the doggies, but had a bad experience with a gang of boys a long time ago (NOT HERE), so he seems to prefer gal pals. He is a little protective of his space but lately I have seen him curled up in a dog bed with other fur babies. He is such a good boy and deserves to have a special home of his own. HEALTH: Good!! Chuka is current on all vaccination, micro-chipped & neutered. Are you ready for me to join your family? If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at info@luvachinrescue.org and if you think that you would like me to come and live with you, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application which can be found on our website: luvachinrescue.org. These folks here want me to have a special loving home so you will need to provide personal and vet references as well as have a home visit before I can come and live with you. My adoption donation is $200.00, and personally I think I'm worth every penny. Due to assessment evaluation, they would like me to stay in foster care for a minimum of 2 weeks to help me get ready for my new family. I will be allowed to travel out of state so don't be afraid to ask about me (please note: we must follow the airline restrictions on temps so please be aware of that, any costs associated with travel will be your responsibility). I would love to have a special person to love me. See you soon..... NOTE: All our adoption donations go towards our ever mounting vet bills. Thank you for your support. We are also, always, looking for more foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can help THANK YOU! PLEASE Note! ADOPTION DONATIONS: When you see the adoption donation amounts, we'd like you to know that 90% of the time the donation amount doesn't even come close to covering our kid's doctor bills. This is definitely not a money-making venture. We're usually so far in the hole but the important thing is to get these kids the medical care they need and help them find the perfect family. That's our top priority. POTTY TRAINING: Please note that we NEVER say our kids are 100% potty-trained. How naive would we be to say something like that? If you're willing to be trained by your new family member, please fill out an application. If you're looking for a totally potty-trained kid, you may as well stop at the toy store on your way home from work and buy a stuffed toy because those are the only reliable ones to NOT potty in your home. There is a period of adjustment, not just for the new family member but for everyone in the house. You must be patient, understanding, and willing to work with your new family member. It can take anywhere from several days to several months. You must be 100% committed to this, it's a lifetime commitment.

He is as sweet as can be and gets along just fine with other small dogs. But we've heard this little guy is not very good with cats (too fun to chase) and gets a bit of a Napolean complex with larger dogs. Bubba is so easy to have around the house and is very quiet. She is in foster care in SW Minnesota INFORMATION: Ms Wendi is a very pretty girl with a huge coat. She has been in her foster home since late march and is doing very well. She is a very confident girl and is slightly alpha. She gets along well with others but seems to think she is the "queen bee". She has done well learning about house manners and uses potty pads inside and also goes out and enjoys exploring in the fenced yard. Wendi's coat will need maintenance if kept long but it is so pretty... but she'd probably look darn cute in a puppy cut too. I'm not sure how she would do with cats, she seems awfully interested in them when she has seen them through a window. Wendi would love to be the "Queen" of her new forever home, could it be yours? HEALTH: Wendi's health is good, she is spayed, updated on all her shots, HW tested and micro-chipped and has had a recent dental. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . Name: MINDY SOO DOB: 12/17/2007 Weight: approximately 12 pounds Adoption Donation: $200 Foster Location: Redwood Falls, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Mindy came from a commercial breeder that did not give the dogs any socialization so therefore they have been some of the most afraid dogs we have rescued. Mindy is in a foster home in SW Minnesota with several other small dogs. INFORMATION: Mindy Soo is a darling little Japanese Chin who is trying to adapt to living the way all dogs deserve to live. She spent the first six years with very little socialization so everything is new to her. She is making progress but it is going to take a lot of time and patience while she learns she can trust. Mindy does like quiet affection but still runs when you walk by her as if she is afraid you might step on her. Her forever home needs to be a very patient one, I think she would do best in a quiet one or two person home. I do not think she would do well with children as she will probably always be a little nervous. She likes to go outside in a fenced yard and also is good about using potty pads in the house. Mindy Soo would like to share her forever home with one or two small dogs for canine companionship, she loves playing and sleeping with her foster pals. A potential adopter should have had some experience with puppy-mill type personalities before. HEALTH:Mindy Soo is in good health. She has been spayed, micro-chipped, HW tested, is up to date on all of her shots. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . If you think this dog may be a good match for you and your family, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found at www.luvachinrescue.org . INFORMATION:Maize is a sweet little girl who is still shy but loves to play with her foster siblings. She is learning to love life in a home with soft beds, toys & treats. Maize is often found snuggled in a soft bed taking it all in.She still hangs back and watches but when we go to her to give her pets she will nudge you and give you licks if you stop. She uses potty pads like a champ. She is afraid of stairs, she can go up a few but she doesn't want to go down. Maize would do best in a home with a fenced yard as she is not leash trained, and having another small dog in her forever home would help show her the ropes. We want Maize to find a forever home that will continue to teach her that life is good and will spoil her like the princess she longs to be. Is Maize the girl for you? HEALTH: Maize has been spayed and is up-to-date on all of her shots. She is micro-chipped and has been heart worm tested. Maize does have a grade 3 heart murmur (which is quite common in Chin) but does not need any medication. AMBER (MN) [more info]

Name: AMBER DOB:12/14/06 Weight: approximately 13 pounds Adoption Donation: $150 Foster Location: Southern Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Amber is a retired breeding female from a commercial kennel. Those days came to an end when we rescued Amber so she can live the rest of her life as a pampered pet. INFORMATION: Amber is a 7 year old sweetheart....don't let her white face fool you, she's got a lot of energy and plays like a pup! Amber is on the shy side, but she is eager to please. She does use potty pads, and she is shy of using stairs to go in and out, but is working on that fear. She loves to be outside, but would need to be picked up and carried out if there are steps involved. Amber will get a little nervous about being picked up, but if you kneel down and let her "work out" that nervous energy, she will slide up into your arms for lifting. Amber loves treats and is learning to take them from your hand. She thinks peanut butter is the bomb, and you will make a fast friend if you share it with her. She is learning to wear a harness but hasn't worked on walks yet. A fenced yard would be the best for her. She does well with other small dogs, she is curious about cats, but doesn't chase. She has made a cat friend at her foster home and will greet him when he comes for a visit. Amber would do well in a calm, quiet environment . She would benefit from the company from another small dog or two. She does get nervous with new situations but she does adapt. HEALTH:Amber has been spayed, has been micro-chipped, heart worm tested, and is up to date on her shots. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Coty has been a part of a loving family, and because of circumstances beyond their control they can no longer give him the attention he needs and want to find a loving forever home for him. INFORMATION:Meet Coty Jo, he is an active little Toy Poodle who loves to run and play with both people and other dogs. He LOVES toys, especially those that squeak. Coty is also content finding a lap or neck to hang out on. Coty walks very well on a leash and is well behaved. He has good manners at the dog park too. Coty has a lot of experience with children but hopes to find a home where any children will be gentle with him because he is small. Coty has lived with a large family of dogs and always finds a way to push to the front for his fair share of attention. He hopes to find a home where he doesn't have to compete for attention too much. Coty has been trained to use cloth potty pads in the house if he has to be inside for a long period of time. He does go to the door when he would like to go outside. He is not fond of rain or cold so when that is the case, he makes very quick trips outside. Coty loves car rides, is very good at the groomers, but does bark when someone comes to the door or his people arrive home. A single family house would be the best for him. If you want any more information on Coty Jo we will pass your inquiry on. HEALTH:Good! CJ is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on his shots. JAKE (MN) [more info]

Name: JAKE DOB: 5/19/12 Weight: approximately 13 pounds Adoption Donation: $350 Foster Location: Redwood Falls, Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: Jake was adopted as a puppy but his owners work schedule changed and they did not have the time for him he needed so they returned him in hopes that he finds a home that can give him all the love and attention he deserves. INFORMATION:Jake is all boy! He is a darling redhead who loves to play and loves to snuggle. He has been around kids before but can get a little rough with jumping and playing so we think any children should be older than eight. Jake loves going outside to play and needs a secure fenced yard. He apparently has dug under a fence in a low spot and can push a improperly latched gate open so you can't be too careful with this guy. He would probably be a good candidate for some basic obedience training! He is leash trained. Jake is very good with his potty habits as long as he is let outside on a schedule and his owners are in tune with him. Sweet Jake loves other dogs and needs a canine companion to snuggle with and run off his boyish energy. Jake sleeps happily in his crate at night but we want him to find a forever home where he does not need to be crated in the day time. HEALTH: Jake is micro-chipped, neutered and up to date on all of his shots. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . If you think this dog may be a good match for you and your family, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found at www.luvachinrescue.org . NICO - MN [more info]

Name: NICO and BELLA NENA DOB: Nico-12-16-07 Bella Nena-1-1-08 Weight: Approximate weights Nico-14 pounds Bella Nena-9 pounds Adoption Donation: $350 for the pair Foster Location: SW Minnesota As an all volunteer rescue organization, please allow us up to 48 hours to respond to your inquiries and applications. We will answer as quickly as we can! We do allow out of state adoptions and will assist with transport whenever possible! BACKGROUND: These two Chins were adopted by the same home when they were pups so they have been together most of their lives. Their owner could no longer care for them so Luv A Chin provided them with love and care in their foster home. INFORMATION: These two are such a sweet couple. Nico is a larger Tri-colored Chin with a big coat and a very nice personality. He is quiet and independent, LOVES going for walks and loves to snuggle in bed with his human. Bella Nena is a little cutie pie with a spunky yet sweet personality. She does not love going for walks on a leash so would prefer a fenced yard. Her shoulder gave her some pain but an xray did not show the source of the pain. She now takes a 1/2 Cosequin tablet for her joints twice a day and that has helped a lot. She just shouldn't jump down from any thing high. Both dogs have been around older children, so would be ok for kids over 8. We are really wanting to keep these two fur-kids together, every night Nena gives her Nico goodnight kisses. HEALTH: They are both up to date on all their shots. Nico has been neutered and Nena spayed. If you have any questions, please contact Joanne at colvin@means.net . If you think this dog may be a good match for you and your family, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found at www.luvachinrescue.org .
