Ariel [more info]

http://youtu.be/5gkw3YTLg3U http://youtu.be/t2KBQxLt5cY http://youtu.be/QF-kGLeUKZo ***NEEDS FOSTER OR ADOPTER*** Meet Ariel. This precious 6 year old 60ish lb brindle shepherd pit mix has a world of love to give! Ariel absolutely LOVES humans and children. With a heart of gold, Ariel will even let you play with her and her food dish while she is eating and loves to dress up in any costume or outfit! What a gem! Who could ever resist those soulful eyes, perky smile, and expressive ears? She looks forward to the day she can play, snuggle, and spoil her human! At this time, Ariel lives in a boarding facility. This is no life for any dog. Unfortunately, and by no fault of her own, the right family has yet to come along for her. Before she was dumped in a high kill shelter, the only life she knew was as a breeding machine and mommy. Once her ‘family’ no longer had any use for her, they dumped her in a rural TN shelter. Not only was she abandoned and on death row, but she was stuck in a location where it is ILLEGAL to adopt our a dog with any pit in them. Inevitably, Ariel was scheduled for death. Needless to say, Ariel did not die that day. She began a new life as a Twenty Paws dog. At a convenient 60 lbs, this doll yearns to finally know what its like to be someone's baby. She cared for so many in the past, and they were all stolen from her. No one cared for her at all. She lavished at her newly found freedom and second chance. Eternally grateful to the vet staff for their determination to improve her health, Ariel showers them with kisses and wiggles. Truly, now it is her turn to experience love and affection. Every night, Ariel dreams that someone will be her hero. Every night, she dreams that she can become part of a family. Could it be your family? Ariel deserves more than a life behind bars and a cold metal bed. Please consider fostering or adopting this survivor. Lucille [more info]

Upon meeting her, Lucille is a girl that captivates your heart. She is about 46 lbs and 5-6 years old. This girl just LOVES people, cats, and other dogs. Lucille just wants to be loved and have a happy life. She will gleefully roll over for belly rubs and accept any and all human affection. In return, she promises endless kisses, hugs, love, and wiggles. Is that too much for a darling girl with hypnotic honey eyes to want? Lucille will bring a smile to you daily. If you ever doubted dogs that look like her before, she will forever change your perception. A home with someone that is expressive and affectionate is a dream come true for Lucille. When you stop petting her, Lucille will demurely tap you with her paw. Her eyes will beckon you for another round! This girl is really great for any adult home, be it young and active, laid back and quiet, or senior. Never breaking a single one, Lucille is gentle with her toys and playmates- human and animal. If she wants to play with you, she will lightly tap you with her paw! Our girl loves to be outside as well. The snow is a white abyss she gets lost in. Frolicking through the white piles puts a smile on her face and wiggle to her step! Please consider adopting Lucille. We know you will both enrich one another’s lives. Before she was a Twenty Paws dog, Lucille was in a shelter with BSL and would not allow her to be adopted. Thus, only out of state rescue could save her. If not, then bully breeds are put to sleep to make room for the lamentable cycle to continue. The shelter volunteers contact us desperate to help this girl the morning she was scheduled to be put to sleep. Lucille came into the shelter with 7 puppies. They were all pulled by another rescue, poor Lucille was left behind. No one knew that those were her babies since the shelter placed them in separate cages. When we pulled her from the shelter, we saw that she is very underweight. However, she is now completely healthy. 2 year old pit mix that's wonderful with all humans and kids! Bernie, a Red nose pitbull puppy born on July 15th, 2012 (2 years old), was dumped in a shelter when his family could not care for him anymore. The resident dogs kept attacking Bernie, and the home could not handle it anymore . Bernie weighs 54 lbs and is in good health- vaccinated and neutered. He is incredibly SWEET and a total DOLL. He loves to play fetch and tug of war with his chew/squeeze toys. A perfect gentleman on leash, Bernie enjoys long walks around the neighborhood. HE IS AMAZING WITH CHILDREN! Full of life and eager to please, Bernie has a wonderful disposition and student. Due to what this poor boy has endured, Bernie should go to a home with no other dogs. Moses [more info]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qldf4EwEE_I Moses is a breath taking boy, just about 2 years old, and about 60 lbs. He has the cutest google markings around his eyes! Between his astonishing good looks and magnetic personality, Moses is a hit anywhere he goes. He is absolutely wonderful with people and children. He does get along with dogs; however, a meet and greet would be required. Moses also loves car rides, belly rubs, and snuggling. He often gets attacked by his ninja feline foster sister- poor boy doesn't know what hit him! We rescued Moses out of deplorable conditions where he was left locked in a room without food or water for over a week. You see the house was a host to vast array of illegal activity. When the people were arrested, he was left behind chained in the room. When the landlord came to look at the property, he need to get him out. After a string of calls, he got our number and told us we had to get him immediately or he will end up in the shelter. We high tailed it over to him and got him. Moses greeted us with the HAPPIEST of spirits. If you could not see his deplorable physical condition, you would never have known he was starving and insurmountably thirsty for a week (during our summer heat wave nonetheless). He was just so grateful to be alive, outside, and with people who care. After witnessing where he came from, we appropriately named him Moses- who has a heart of gold. Sadly, his horrific life left him with more than just hunger, thirst, and an emaciated frame. Moses was covered in old scars. We do not know where this is from. However, it is clear that he was a victim of circumstance more than once. Our hearts bleed for Moses; and, after seeing him, we know he will simultaneously break and capture your heart too. Sirius [more info]

Sirus is a loving German shepherd mix boy. With the body and look of a German shepherd and the cutest short legs, Sirius is a uniquely perfect sized pup! He loves the company of dogs and cats! He’s developed a solid profession around being a love bug, especially with his human! Now, this boy is more of a ladies’ man. However, with the proper time and patience, he can develop an equal love for males too. Sirius is a unique boy, who loves to be groomed. That’s right! Sirius absolutely adores being brushed! Literally, this boy smiles when you brush him! Eager to please, Sirius is happy to learn. This awesome boy is crate and potty trained and walks well on the leash. Although, he does prefer playing in the yard or grassy area over being near the street. Basking in the glory of affection, Sirius loves to be the center of attention. He would benefit from some more basic socialization training as he does take some time to warm up to strangers entering his home. However, when he travels or meets new people, he is happy to generously give kisses! We pulled Sirus baby's mother, Star, form a shelter right before she was supposed to be put to sleep. We, including the vet, thought she had puppies recently and they were stripped from her too early. Little did we know that she was PREGNANT! Her foster mom woke up on the morning of July 7, 2013 and found Star in labor! If interested please email us at twentypawsrescue@gmail.com or info@twentypawsrescue.com. **Due to a gmail glitch, we lose some emails. So if you do not hear back from us please follow up! Missy [more info]

***ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP*** About a year ago Missy was found running loose in the subzero New England temperatures, malnourished and underweight. After 2 weeks of searching for her former family, no one claimed her. She was left abandoned- just a lonely scared puppy. At 2 years old and 60 lbs, Missy, an STUNNING white American Bulldog, always was and continues to be sweet and loving to whoever came to care for her, full of kisses and a yodeling bark. Missy is very affectionate- providing endless kisses and snuggles in bed. She loves to lay on your lap too! Missy has a lot of energy and loves to run; she eats well and will even sit on the chair at the table with you like a human. She is a very family oriented dog and loves to be around people. Due to her past abandonment, Missy prefers to be around humans, attention, and love. When you are not home, Missy patiently waits for you in her crate. Oh, and Missy LOVES baths, walks, and to chew on her toys. She has a toy box full of toys to keep her occupied; but, plastic bottles are her toy of choice. As far as we know, Missy has never been around small children. She does do well around kids 10 years and older. Around cats, Missy is a terror, but hasn’t hurt them. She just does not realize know her own strength, as most of these mush balls tend to do. Missy should be the only dog in the home, as she prefers to be the only beloved canine in the home. Missy is a wonderful dog and will be a devoted guard dog protecting her owner. She is a very happy dog and yodels instead of barking when greeting you- truly a unique and special young girl. While she loves to be outdoors and play until she needs a siesta, Marley also thoroughly enjoys cuddling and relaxing. She currently lives with a cat that puts her in her place every now and again but she only wants to play and be near her feline friend. Although she is great with cats, Marley asks to be the only dog in and adult only home. She prefers to be your unrivaled super star. Marley is remarkably smart and is well with her training! She already knows many commands, and eager to learn more. This angel is crate and potty trained as well. For a reward, Marley will do anything, including walking on a treadmill for treats and jumping sky for a beloved. Tennis balls, ropes, and toys beware - she will destroy you if left to her own devices. Her favorite toy is a "wubba", which she likes to run around with and show off to anyone that she can find. Marley loves to fetch, hike, and never tires…until you take away her toys and it's bedtime. When exhausted, Marley will fall asleep sitting up or put herself to bed in the bedroom. Pork Chop [more info]

http://youtu.be/H8c95ph1Enw http://youtu.be/S9DhUL5Gdtc Meet our Thanksgiving miracles, Pork Chop and Pancake. One of our volunteers was driving down a desolate road in Lewisville, Akansas when he saw a dog run into the road and then off into a field. Seeing the dog scared and almost hit by oncoming traffic, he pulled over his tractor-trailer and searched for her. As soon as he found the terrified girl, she lay on her back, exposed her stomach, and begged to be pet. Emaciated beyond words and engulfed in ticks, the girl was not alone. Our volunteer looked up and saw another dog laying in the field. Upon approach, he saw that he found another puppy. Friendly and lethargic, he was able to pet them both…Then, he brought them into his tractor-trailer and hit the road. The rest is history. In Memphis, they got brand new leashes, collars, bowls, food, flea and tick spray, and bath time. Camp Bow Wow allowed him to give them both baths and remove the dozens upon dozens of ticks feeding on them. They also received manicures and pedicures (nail polish not included) So meet Pancake (female) and Pork chop (male) - 8 month(ish) old siblings weighing about 41 lbs. Incredibly bonded, the 2 spoon each other while they sleep. Quickly, we learned that they are wonderful travel companions and love the open road. Now, Pork chop and Pancake are as perfectly healthy! Meeting other dogs is a breeze, and they welcome all those that cross their path. Who knows what their former life was or destined to become. What we do know is that these 2 are just a joy to be around. They could not be more grateful to have spent their first Thanksgiving in a loving warm home- surrounded by those that love them. We are unsure about the 2 cuties' relation to one another. However, Pork Chop is growing and getting tall. While, the vet believes Pancake is full grown; Again, these 2 are GREAT with dogs, cats are still questionable. Maybe a love/hate relationship? Maybe something that needs some patience? Pork Chop and Pancake are HOUSE, PAPER, CREATE, and LEASH trained!!! When in the crate, they like to be in one together. After Pork Chop drinks water, Pancake licks his mouth. She always licks his ears and face...constantly cleaning him. They LOVE each other! They LOVE toys. Pancake has a special affinity towards squeaky toys and playing chase. These 2 angels CUDDLE like its their life's calling! Truly, they are a wonderful addition into any home. Gracie [more info]

**An adorable feline duo looking for a forever home** Gracie and Whitney are female short domestic short hair cats between 3 and 4 years old. Both cats are about 8-10 lbs, indoor only, fully vetted, litter trained, and spayed. The perfect pair loves kids and other people. Although they can be skittish at first, they warm up quickly to those they meet. Supporting each other, they will hide until both are comfortable to come out. Curious and inquisitive, Gracie and Whitney are natural explorers- climbing, jumping, and enjoying the sight lines from an elevated location. If introduced to other cats properly, these girls do get along with them well. Gracie is an independent young lady. Once she trusts you, she becomes your protective shadow. Nicko [more info]

Me oh my!!! Look who joined the TPR family and are looking to be adopted! Nicko (7 yr old exuberant yorkie) and Jack (5 yr old shy black and white shih tzu) are 2 bonded little peanuts. Both are human, dog, and kid friendly!!! Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. They are now and forever going to be loved and receive the best care. As of today, they are in foster day care with the amazing and generous Camp Canine NYC Although they look different from one another, they are brothers through and through and must be adopted together. However, when you think about it, they are so small, they really equal one small dog! Jack, the shih tzu born on Valentine's day in 2010, weighs about 7 pounds. Nicko, the Yorkie born March 1, 2008, weighs about 5 pounds. Jack loves to play with toys, especially fetch! Nicko likes to sit on your lap and give kisses. Both boys are very sweet, affectionate, and will make a wonderful addition to your family- they are also good with kids and love doggy day care! Being in a forever home would be a dream come true for them. They are peas in a pod. If given the chance both will sit on your lap and give endless kisses! They are great travel companions too! You see, they did not have the best life. They were constantly running around in the neighborhood and neglected, left matted and without care. When we rescued Nicko, we found he had terrible bladder stones, leaving his urethra partially obstructed. The bladder stones were removed in late May and our little boy is recovering nicely. Jack [more info]

Also due to his neglect, he has a chronic eye issue. Thankfully the treatment is easy and he just needs drops every day. VERY EASY to manage! Please consider adopting these two beautiful boys! Dexter [more info]

***NEEDS FOSTER OR ADOPTER ASAP*** OWNER SURRENDER AND MUST BE MOVED ASAP! Ok, everyone, brace yourselves to meet Dexter- and no he is not the once from Showtime. However, he is SO SO much better and cuter! Turning 5 years old on July 7th, this 32lb golden and white english bulldog puggle mix is as charming as his bright smile and perky eyes lead him to be! He is WONDERFUL with children! At one time, he lived with special needs children and was their best friend! Although, he loves to play with other dogs of all sizes, Dexter loves to be the center of furry attention at home. This is not a concern outside of the home, though! He just has a little bit of a jealous side when it comes to hogging love and attention from other furbabies at home. For this reason, he should be the only pet OR with someone that is saavy to a zealous affection hog. In those situation, he can be bossy. however, Dexter NEVER showed aggressive behavior. This boy is dying to be the light of your life...and your loyal tail. This boy a quick learner, knows basic commands, loves fetch, and thinks tennis balls are heaven on Earth! Stuffed squeaky toys are his partners in crime. He is a professional ninja and has a spring in his tail. Jumping and acrobatics are only 2 of his many talents. Another gift is his palate. Dexter is a foodie and loves apples, tomatoes, pita bread, kiwi...toothpaste! He is also part fish and loves the water! If he spots the bathroom door open, he will run into the bathtub. Drying him is a blast too! He will curl himself into an open towel and purr during his rub down. Dexter is neutered, vaccinated, and housebroken. Timmy [more info]

Here are our pristine white boys Timmy & Tommy. They are 7 year old Maltese fraternal gentlemen, brothers that MUST stay together. These boys LOVE to cuddle with their humans and are as sweet as the cotton candy they resemble. Now, dont let the age of 7 fool you. These boys love to play with other dogs and people. They are active boys that love to chase, romp, smile, laugh, and enjoy the sunshine! Their parents were sent to a nursing home and had to give them up. Luckily, they went immediately into a loving foster home. Both boys are healthy, vaccinated, fixed, and ready for their new lives! Sadly, Tommy had cataracts in both eyes. After his left eye’s cataract detached, his left eye had to be removed. HOWEVER, Timmy helps Tommy. Once Tommy gets his bearings in a new place, he does very well and is independent. So they can go out when need be, they do need a place with a dog door or easy potty access. An apartment, small children, or cat siblings would be not be ideal for them.
